Mission #3
Jackson pulled out his phone and scrolled through a document that had been sent to many trainers throughout the region. It asked for trainers to come to Murkhaven and help with clean up efforts. The area was in complete disarray due to the damage that was caused from the fog. It was only recently that Murkhaven was able to be reclaimed with light beacons that pushed the fog back. Still, this meant the devastation that the fog left behind required substantial cleanup.
People with pokemon were vital to this process due to the strength that strong pokemon can have. Some of them are far stronger that a person would be which made them highly effective in clearing large and heavy objects. Although Jackson didn’t have any of those pokemon, the call for help had also said they could use more smaller pokemon to help clear away sticks, fallen trees, and bushes. Considering this, Jackson readied his backpack with supplies.
“Alright buddy, you ready to do some clean up?” Jackson said to his starter pokemon, a noctyena named Atlas. The pokemon wagged his tail as they both left the apartment.

As Jackson and Atlas reached the section of Murkhaven that was currently being cleaned up it was clear that the place was still a mess. Fallen trees and overgrown plants were all over the place, along with debris left by the fog. There were other people and pokemon helping to clean up the area but in order to clean up the mess faster more help was definitely needed. This was especially true considering this was only a small section of Murkhaven, there was still a lot more that was in a similar state.
Considering the amount of cleanup that was required, Jackson took a pokeball out of his back and tossed it into the air. As he did so a small pokemon appeared in front of him, named Shadow. The pokemon was a delta ghost turtwig with a purple and black coloration. He also had the clouded marking which created black clouds that extended from his body.
“Alright, Shadow, we need to help clear some of this stuff.” Jackson said to the pokemon, who looked eager to help. The small turtwig began to move towards some of the nearby overgrown bushes. Shadow then used tackle on the bushes, knocking them down as he did so.
Atlas followed the other pokemon and dragged the now fallen bush to a nearby pile of wood. As he dropped it in the pile Jackson noticed a truck near the pile that someone had started to load wood into. Not wanting all his pokemon to do all the work alone, the trainer walked over and began to pull the bush into the bed of the truck. He also started to move the pieces of wood into the truck.
Shadow and Atlas continued to work on clearing the bushes, eventually switching out so the noctyena was the one destroying the bushes. Jackson figured this was an effort for neither of them to get too tired. Other nearby workers who were helping to chop up fallen trees also began bringing their pieces of wood to Jackson. A slightly sizeable amount of wood and bushes were beginning to build up in the pile as the trainer continued to load the truck.
By the time the sun began to set the three of them felt exhausted. Jackson knew his partially amputated leg would be sore from standing for so long. The amount of other people and pokemon helping had also begun to dwindle. Many people also wanted to get out of the area before nightfall since it was still rather close to the fog.
Jackson finished loading up the truck and then motioned for his pokemon to come over. They looked as exhausted as the trainer felt. “Good job guys. We’d better start going home.” He praised his pokemon. Atlas gave a small tail wag as he arched his jaws in a yawn.
“Why don’t you guys get some rest.” Jackson said as he pulled out pokeballs from his backpack. Although Atlas spent most of his time outside of his pokeball, the noctyena seemed happy with the idea of rest. As Jackson held the pokeball in the air a small white beam of light extended from it to the noctyena and a few seconds later Atlas had disappeared. He then did the same with shadow. The trainer sighed, of course he would still have to make his way back to somewhere to rest.
