City in the Sky #5

After a good night’s rest Lumi and Amber were ready to get back to work helping Wintervale. They had to stop working on solar panels the previous night once the sun went down but were now back to the rows of battery storage. After a good night’s rest Lumi was now recharged and ready to help with some more electric type moves.

The city’s batteries had been quickly sapped of power after the damage caused by Rayquaza. The legendary pokemon had gone on a rampage that greatly damaged Wintervale. Now the city’s citizens had to pick up the pieces to try and get the floating city functional again. This was proving to be rather difficult, which was where Amber and other volunteers came in. People were coming from all across Reigns Rest with their pokemon to offer aid to the struggling city.

“Alright, discharge seemed to work well last time so let's use that again.” Amber said as she stopped at one of the battery rows. Luckily most of the batteries they had charged yesterday still had varying degrees of electricity left so they could move further down the rows. There were still quite a number of batteries that were in need of charging.

Lumi followed her trainer’s directions as she tensed and moved into a more battle-like pose. After a few moments of concentration sanyatto was able to execute the move. A wave of crackling yellow energy formed around the blue pokemon and then spread out as it hit nearby batteries. The lights signaling their charge turned green as the batteries filled with electricity.

“Perfect.” Amber praised with a nod as the feline-like pokemon purred. Lumi bounced down a few rows of batteries to the next section that was in need of charging. She followed the same steps as another wave of electricity dispersed around her.

The two continued down the rows until they reached the end of the building. “You still have energy for some more electric moves?” Amber asked her pokemon, who let out a happy purr which she interpreted as a yes.

With the batteries now charged the scientist walked out of the building housing the batteries in search of someone that could point her in the right direction. Amber knew that there were other electronics in the city that were in need of a boost from electric type pokemon. As she spotted a nearby worker the trainer waved him down and approached.

“Hi! We just finished charging up some batteries. Is there anything else my sanyatto can help charge?” Amber asked and the man nodded.

“Yeah the light beacons. Obviously we need to keep the fog at bay… Some of them are growing dimmer as they run low on electricity. If you see those dim ones then they could use a boost from an electric type move.” He explained and Amber thanked him as she began to head away. The light beacons were absolutely vital to the region since it was the only thing keeping the fog from consuming everything in Reigns Rest. Lumi even wore a few miniature light beacons on her oval stone necklace, which glowed softly.

There were light beacons all across the floating city, which made checking for dim ones a more time consuming task than it may seem like at first. She could also feel the bitter cold as she walked, her hands in her pockets. Lumi seemed rather unbothered by this as she bounced through the snow.

Amber spotted the perfect beacon up ahead for them to start with. It was no longer producing much light, the white glow being unsteady as it faded in and out. She could tell it was definitely in need of a charge.

“Okay, let’s use thunderbolt on the light beacon.” The trainer told Lumi. Since the pokemon was now just targeting one object a move that widely dispersed electricity like discharge wasn’t really needed. She was also hoping this could help conserve Lumi’s energy so she could charge more electronics than if she just used discharge.

Lumi followed her trainer’s words as she created a bolt of lighting with a yowl. It struck the light beacon which began to shine intensely, more so than a typical running light beacon would. After a few moments the light lessened to a more steady glow that would be more than enough to keep the fog at bay.

“Okay that was perfect!” Amber praised her pokemon as she began to walk in search of the next beacon. This process went on for some time as the two tried to give a boost to as many light beacons as possible.
