The warmth of the fire Chompy had just finished felt amazing against Jackson’s cold skin. He had been walking around the frozen city for some time to offer help with his pokemon. His fire type pokemon proved to be very useful in lighting the dying fires that were needed for warmth.

As the trainer was warming up next to the fire he saw someone beginning to approach him from the corner of his eye. When Jackson turned out he realized the person was a Wintervale worker. “I’m assuming he’s also a water type?” He asked, looking down at the totodile/growlithe fusion.

“Yeah, he is.” Jackson said with a nod. “Why?” He added, a little puzzled by the question.

“As I’m sure you’ve noticed, there’s a lot of pathways and buildings that are blocked by thick piles of snow.” The worker began to explain, looking down at Jackson’s pants which were covered in water and snow. “Since your pokemon is a water type you should be able to help move some of the snow out of the way. If you’re able to anyways.” The man cleared his throat, seemingly feeling a little awkward about asking Jackson to do a specific task, even if the trainer was volunteering to help.

“Sure we can do that, really it’s not a problem.” Jackson replied as he gave a comforting smile. The worker seemed relieved as he asked the trainer to pull out his holopad. The man quickly pulled up a map of the city on it and began to circle a few areas.

“These places are the most in need of clearing.” The worker said as he handed back the holopad and Jackson nodded.

The trainer began to walk down the slippery pathway, looking down at his holopad to navigate around the city. Although, some of this proved to be a bit difficult considering the uncleared snow and debris. Chompy had to scramble over some obstacles while Atlas leaped over them.

Soon enough the three reached the first spot that the worker had marked on his map. “Alright, I guess try using some water moves to clear the snow away.” Jackson said as he scratched his head, not really sure how well this was going to work.

Chompy aimed towards the snow and used surging strikes, sending multiple quick bursts of water towards the snow. The speed of it also created some wind that helped to move the snow. It hadn’t moved as far back as Jackson would have hoped, but it was certainly a start with clearing the snow.

The todolithe continued to use the move on the show, slowly but surely pushing it back. Atlas started digging at some of the snow spots, sending it towards Chompy to push away. Once the snow was cleared Jackson realized the amount of ice on the ground and covering the doorway could be troublesome.

“Can you use your fire to melt the ice? Carefully.” Jackson asked his pokemon. He was a little worried about the fact that too much fire could set something on fire, possibly the entire building

Chompy used will-o-wisp and sent several small purple orbs floating towards the ice. The orbs were as hot as a move like ember but were enough to start melting the ice. Water dripped down as the doorway became cleared. Now people would definitely be able to get into the building.

With that building cleared Jackson began to head to the next location on the map. This time he found a giant pile of snow completely blocking the pathway. It was surely greatly hindering movement around the city, especially as people tried to move supplies. Still, it didn’t seem like removing it would be an easy task.

Chompy didn’t seem to be at all discouraged as he used surging strikes to send the snow off the road. Atlas also helped dig at the cold snow, sending it flying into the collections of snow next to the road.

In between using his water type move to clear away snow the todolithe also used ember to melt some of the snow. This especially helped with some of the packed down snow, allowing it to be moved away more easily.

It did take a little bit of time but eventually they were able to get the roadway cleared. As Jackson took another look at his map he realized this task would likely take a while. There were still several circled areas that they hadn’t reached to clear. The trainer figured there was no time to waste as he began to navigate towards the next stop.
