History: Pitch was born in Brookfell to two rather caring and devoted parents that loved and cherished her to the absolute best of their abilities. Pitch was a happy child with great dreams of becoming a musician and following in her mother’s footsteps. She learned the piano, loving every minute of her lessons given to her by her mother. She was energetic and excitable, hoping one day to bring great music to Brookfell and the rest of the region. It was really the only true stability the girl had and could rely on.
The only thing about her life that bothered her was the body dysmorphia she suffered from. Her mother and father however supported her through it and helped her keep tabs on how she felt about herself. It was a challenge every day for them, but their strength as a family was enough to help keep it at bay.
Her father was a part of a gang however so life was pretty chaotic for them a good majority of Pitch’s life. After failing a mission and getting most of his team arrested by police, Pitch’s father was targeted as a traitor to the group he’d dedicated so much time into. At first it was just extortion attempts done over the course of a few months. Then it became blackmail.
Pitch’s father knew what would come next for them, so he and her mother made plans to try and flee to Groveheart. They were on the run for up to a year by this point, finding it extremely difficult to get out of Brookfell due to how powerful the influence of the gang her father was once a part of was. Goons were after them all by this point. It was difficult to avoid them, but not impossible. They managed to scrape by under the cover of shadows as best they could until one faithful day when it all just… went to shit.
Pitch was hidden away in an abandoned building while her parents were facing off against the goons that had found them. It turned into a fight that frightened Pitch enough to keep perfectly silent, as well as petrified of moving from her spot. The last thing she heard of her parents were the sounds of gunshots and screams. Afterwards came a deafening silence as the goons left off in search of her, not knowing she was but mere feet away in the building next door, silently crying to herself. She didn’t need to see the outcome, didn’t want to see the outcome.
Once that silence was lasting and she felt she was safe enough, she closed her eyes and used her Noivern half’s natural ability to see through echo location to navigate the murder before her. It was a real tragedy for her, as the border between the two cities was within sight and easily reachable. After she made it into Groveheart, she lost everything that defined her. Her joy, her excitement, even her love of her parents. It was gone. Forever.
She suffers massively now from her body dysmorphia and does everything to hide herself be it through her coat or from closing her wings around herself. She hates a lot about who she is and blames a lot of what happened to her parents on the fact that she was a coward and hid rather than fought beside them. Maybe then… if she had done that… she would still be with them be it in life... Or death.
The only joy that remains in her life, real joy, is the last connection she had to her mother and father. Her music. They were so supportive of her endeavors to become a great pianist, that she finds it to be her only level of comfort in her depression. Her dreams have changed though from wanting to be a pianist, to wanting to be a DJ. The louder she can make her music, the less silence will fill the air, reminding her of the silence that haunts her dreams from when she lost her folks.
She fears that the gang her father was in will find her one day and attempt to finish her off out of spite. She has no proof of this, but something in her keeps that fear very much alive.
